“Hoping for What We Do Not See”

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth;

Job 19:26 and after my skin has been thus destroyed, then in my flesh I shall see God…

In chapter 9 he wished there was a “mediator” who could touch him and touch God.  What good thing happened between chapter 9 and 19 that led him to be sure of a Redeemer?  Nothing.  We see not only is he still suffering, it has has gotten worse – His friends continue to hound him rather than bring him comfort.

How in the world did someone suffering this much go from knowing there was no Advocate to believing there was One?

I have only one answer – The suffering did…

Hopefully we can know that the one thing that can get you through trial is knowing there is a Witness in heaven pleading with God as one pleads for a friend or neighbor.  On this planet tho, we may only be asked to when there is no earthly evidence to believe such a thing.
