Rev. 3:14 ¶ “And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the origin of God’s creation:
Rev. 3:15 ¶ “I know your works; you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were either cold or hot.
Rev. 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Rev. 3:17 For you say, ‘I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing.’ You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
“He who feels whole, who thinks that he is reasonably good, and is contented with his condition, does not seek to become a partaker of the grace and righteousness of Christ….Those who know that they cannot possibly save themselves, or of themselves do any righteous action, are the ones who appreciate the help that Christ can bestow. They are the poor in spirit, whom He declares to be blessed.”
